1403755 2015-06-28 08:09:00 Got a new motherboard/cpu, connected all the PSU cables but it doesn't boot even though the ethernet and power standby LEDs light on.

I've tried unplugging all the GPU, HDD and even the RAM. I've also tried resetting the BIOS and removing the CMOS battery.

It's not the PSU because I tried plugging it back into my old mobo and it worked fine.

I thought it was most likely the power switch jumpers in the wrong place but I'm adamant I've got it setup correctly, however I tried switching them all over the place, back to front, in the wrong ports etc. and it makes no difference. I'm all out of ideas :(

1403758 2015-06-28 09:20:00 Is this how you connected the front wires?

Did you read the manual? (downloadcenter.intel.com)

1403759 2015-06-28 09:24:00 Just had a look at the manual-- As long as the wiring codes are the standard on your Case then its wired wrong according to the manual.

The standard codes/ Wires are:

Green/White = Pwr LED
Red /White = HDD
Orange / White = power
Blue /white = Reset.

Going by your Picture. Change the green / White around the other way (All White wires = Negative), so from left to right it should be white /green.

Where you have the Red/White , replace it with the Orange / White
Red/White goes where the current Orange /white is

Blue/ White is OK

Edited: See Speedys picture posted, make sure the negative wires are on the negative pins. The Pwr wire doesn't matter which way around, but must be on the right pins.

1403760 2015-06-28 13:55:00 There's an interactive picture on the website and it looks like the wires are correct as posted, the label is upside down compared to the colours on the board which is confusing but all the pins are coloured to match the wires as in the picture. It's possible the case uses the colours differently though. If it's wrong as pictured I totally understand why you believe it's right. Unplug everything but the power switch and try it in all 4 possible positions, you don't need the others until you figure that one out.

Also make sure you have the 4 pin power connection near the top of the board connected (no. 13 in the link)

Edit: looking at it again maybe the issue is the board is using the wrong colours? The power switch is red in the diagram and Wainui says orange as does the case I looked at, maybe you just matched the colours without reading what each was for ?

1403761 2015-06-28 20:55:00 There's an interactive picture on the website and it looks like the wires are correct as posted, The interactive header on the site is opposite to the picture Speedy posted. If you look really close at the picture on the motherboard the interactive is also displayed opposite to the colors on the board ( may have to zoom in to the header)

Looking at the Pic of the current wiring, the spare pin it top Left if looking closely (arrow pointing to it)

Seems theres several configurations for that board

1403762 2015-06-28 21:07:00 It's not opposite it's the same. It's just upside down relative to both which makes it look opposite. It has the same numbers and colours in the same layout, I assume number 1 is actually bottom right as per the picture and Speedy's link not top right as per the interactive link. In any case the colours on the board appear to be wrong and your instructions on where to put the wires appears to be right for example every diagram shows the power wire as red on the board instead of orange as expected. Can't tell for sure without seeing the labelling on the wires though. dugimodo (138)
1403763 2015-06-28 21:26:00 Yup ignore the colours and just match the text on the wires to the board locations.
In this case swap the orange pair with the red pair. Also put the red wire on the outside pin rather than the white as wainui said. LEDs need correct + and - pins but the reset and power don't matter.
So swap around the power led wires as well as they not the right way around.

1403764 2015-06-28 22:33:00 Also put the red wire on the outside pin rather than the white as wainui said. Not quite right, I didn't say that at all, I said

See Speedys picture posted, make sure the negative wires are on the negative pins. ------- (All White wires = Negative)

Thats why I said change the green /white around as well, according to the Pic its incorrect, the diagram shows the correct layout
