| 1403469 | 2015-06-23 05:36:00 | Hi Team Bought a new Fuji-Xerox CP225W last week and installed it last night. I set it up for USB and first print out was really good. I'm very impressed by the colour quality which is a quantum improvement on my similar sized Samsung CLP-325 (which I stopped using a year or so back because it was just plain awful). So, print quality is exceptional, but my problem is this: after the first page out it then switched to WiFi and declined to print the next page. I switched the printer off then on again and next print was via USB, after which it again defaulted to WiFi. I thought it might be being affected by a local WiFi user as there are several around here that show up on a WiFi enabled laptop I use from time to time, and I've gone through the manual etc, but can't find any means to switch it off completely. My only other option is ethernet, so my question is this: Is a facility to switch off WiFi completely something that I should expect to find?, or is disabling it entirely usually hard to achieve? Cheers Billy 8-{) :help: |

| 1403470 | 2015-06-23 06:16:00 | What do you mean by switched to Wi-Fi? Have you added the printer to your Wi-Fi network? | Alex B (15479) | ||
| 1403471 | 2015-06-23 06:27:00 | Do you want wifi connected? It should be in the manual but theres an admin menu for controlling wifi including disabling it or manually setting it to an SSID of your choice, im assuming it defaults to Auto Wifi. If these features arent on your printer, then it'd be done through the driver features i believe. Cheers, KK |

| 1403472 | 2015-06-23 06:49:00 | Thanks for the responses. I don't have a WiFi facility, and I really don't want to have one either, it is just one more expense and security risk. However I am aware that there are a few WiFi nodes operating from neighbouring homes, and I know this because the laptop indicates their presence immediately following boot. I want the printer to operate via USB only, but I could not find find anything in the manual to turn off WiFi, but that document was pretty sparse. The FX test page that was printed after installation makes no mention of WiFi, just USB. I may have to phone Fuji Xerox if I don't find an answer elsewhere. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

According to the manual. page 70 www.fujixeroxprinters.co.nz c814.pdf In the advanced options you should be able to disable it. The default list of settings show it can be disabled, the default is on. 6541 Must be there someplace |

The default list of settings show it can be disabled, the default is on. Must be there someplace Yes WT, I went through the manual on the disk again and spotted some encouraging options, but they all used descriptions of activities and procedures that needed a keyboard, screen and codes to enter them, so I saw no way to bring up any such screens. In the end I held down the WPS button for what felt like an age (haven't found what WPS means yet) and it seemed to do nothing like what the manual said, then I looked over and the WiFi symbol in the LCD screen had a bloody great cross over it and the WiFi LED had gone out. I am cautiously optimistic that it won't revert to WiFi again, but at least I now have an idea of something that might fix it. You'd think that they would make it easier to find, and surely if the printer is going to use WiFi as its default, then they should also make it easier to opt out. I've got a feeling that it might have been picking up the local HiFi nodes in neighbours' homes, there are about five of them within strong-signal range, all well locked down. In retrospect, I recall seeing a similar-looking option during the original software installation, but it disappeared before I could check it. Cheers Billy 8-{) :thumbs: |

| 1403475 | 2015-06-23 10:50:00 | There is a settings utility you should use. See Pg 37. 1 Click start → All Programs → Fuji Xerox → Fuji Xerox Printer Software for Asia-Pacific → FX DocuPrint CP205/FX DocuPrint CP205 w → Printer Setting Utility |

| 1403476 | 2015-06-23 11:05:00 | Re the WPS In the end I held down the WPS button for what felt like an age (haven't found what WPS means yet) WPS stands for Wi-Fi Protected Setup. Basic explanation : A quick way of setting a wireless device to the router. How its meant to work is you press the button on the wireless device, then press the WPS button on the Router (or visa verse) when the two find one another they say "hello - Welcome" and connect, no entering passwords etc. The "pairing" option only lasts for a very short time, so anything that's trying to pair has to be pressed within the time. Once paired they stay connected- this is a quick way to attach a device like a printer to the routers wireless instead of having to have networking knowledge. Thats the theory anyway :) Had a Canon Wireless today, wouldn't pair, so had to setup and connect Via USB first, then attach Via wireless manually. |

| 1403478 | 2015-06-24 02:24:00 | WPS on printers is very hit and miss I've found, especially Canons. Is the printer sitting next to the modem/switch Billy? I'd just connect it over Ethernet if that's an option. You'll find printing large jobs quicker too. | wratterus (105) | ||
