| 1392996 | 2015-01-25 04:17:00 | This horrific accident took place last week. I will not pass judgement on the Mother, she is doing that for herself. What I am concerned about is the high level of stress that the Mother was enduring to make her do such a thing. Having been in Hospital several times I am fully aware of the stress endured by medical staff. There must be a full investigation into working hours, shifts and general work overload. It is believed that the woman concerned is a surgeon. There is no way that the stress level should be allowed to build up in a person who has such a skilled job, a mistake could be fatal. A person who's mind is so distracted should not even even be driving. I have done it myself when very tired and gone into auto-pilot. I have got home without remembering any part of the journey, a bit like sleep walking. I saw a suggestion which was to keep a large stuffed toy in the baby seat, which would be placed on the front seat when the baby seat was occupied, it would work. |

I can't imagine forgetting such a thing, I don't care how "stressed" you are. And she doesn't answer her phone either. No wonder so many doctors in hospitals screw up, but never mind, the hospitals then "review their procedures". |

| 1393005 | 2015-01-25 21:27:00 | i think its actually easy done. who isn't foggy in the morning, most people are on auto pilot especially when driving rush hour traffic. it was also a change from routine, she followed her normal routine which we all do. a surgeon does exactly that, follows routines/procedures. yes, mother instinct is very strong but its not infallible. its a tragic incident, one she will never get over. Since it was her child that died, the mother can expect sympathetic treatment. If it had been a cat or dog though, she would be treated very harshly indeed. the difference is, people leave cat/dog in cars on purpose. they simply don't give a crap. hence they get treated harshly. if she had left baby in on purpose (sadly some people do), then she would get jail time for sure. |
