Doesn't make them bad programs, just means everyone needs to be educated to install in advanced or custom mode only and watch for additionals being installed.

1392366 2015-01-20 20:29:00 This should be more concerning than bundling of toolbars: www.slideshare.net

Its pretty much a given these days that free software will come bundled with other crapware. The vast majority I've come across can be avoided by paying attention when installing the software and opting out of installing the crapware as well.

It ran and found 20 pups, that was all.

It ran and found 20 pups, that was all. While this is not a PUP, when installing Malwarebytes, by default the install the 30 day pro Trial is ticked.

MANY people suddenly discover that a month later it starts bugging you to buy the Pro version -- Why ? because it was told to -- Again some people dont look at whats pre ticked.

1392369 2015-01-21 00:38:00 A couple of my friends who I installed malwarebytes for have been confused when after 12 months it tells you it's expired and you need to resubscribe. They both have stopped using it thinking they needed to pay. Reading comprehension is not some peoples strong point and as the software makers want you to pay for the full version they make that option way more obvious than the free one. I untick the 30 day pro trial every time now or the same thing happens a whole lot sooner. dugimodo (138)
