1391711 2015-01-18 20:50:00 The facts are that if you make fun of religion someone gets hurt, so why do it? It serves no purpose. Just because you are free to do it does not mean that you should.

If you are prevented from saying something because someone "might get hurt", you play right into the hands of those who promulgate bullying, and the extreme side of that: terror.

1391712 2015-01-19 07:23:00 What I can’t follow is who buy’s these cartoons?

I mean there are staff wages and office overheads to be paid, so a substantial amount of money is required.

If I were to set up a business poking fun at the Pope and his followers I‘d be broke in no time because after a short time it would all become a big zzzzzzzzzzzzz and no sales.

To stay in business they have to have a substantial following prepared to pay for the publications, but who?

I would suggest that the cartoons are only part of mags content.

1391716 2015-01-25 08:53:00 The "good muslims" are too scared to tear out those passages and re-write the Qur'an into a modern form, and so by their silence acquiesce by default with the terrorists .

Agree . I always wonder what some muslims actually pray about when at their mosque . Anything portent like death? Either to be prevented or to occur?

1391717 2015-01-25 21:08:00 "Five killed in second day of Charlie Hebdo protests in Niger"
"That again outraged many in the Muslim world, triggering violent demonstrations in Algeria, Niger and Pakistan on Friday."

www.reuters.com

I would suspect most likely none of those outraged Muslims have actually seen the sketch, they are just raging on hearsay.

Then in any case, the cartoon is only Mahommed because an infidel said so, it looks like a cartoon of any of a zillion turbaned blokes, including Beanladen.

Your problem Terr is, you would like reason to prevail.

Where we have tribes we will have disagreements, most seem to want to belong to one.
