1403492 2015-06-24 01:35:00 I moved my Music, all 40 GB to an internal 1TB drive and all other things like personal docs. that didn't effect the function of the machine, as I understand it. A lot of links stopped working when I did that. Software installers put files necessary to the programs function in my documents sometimes.

If the files, music Documents etc were moved they "should" have been perfectly fine. The files trying to open from the other drive still should have worked by opening the appropriate related program when double clicking them. BUT sometimes things don't always do what they should.

What Will change is lets say you open A word Document, and use the recent opened menu, that will throw up an error, because the link to the document is going to the C drive, and is no longer there. Same thing with any music playlists - they would be looking for links to the original location, so they would need to be relinked to the new location. Another is any photo software that has a menu ( Example: Google Picasa) - all links would be to the old location.

1403493 2015-06-24 04:45:00 Might just be a case of time to upgrade your drive to a larger one. Agent_24 (57)
1403494 2015-06-25 19:28:00 When I moved My Documents to drive D, some programs stopped working.

Steve Gibson of Gibson Research: grc.com is of the opinion that program files should be on C; I respect his expertise.

I am not a technically minded person. I prefer to reserve my intellectual resources for the exercise of my intelligence rather than for memory.

Nothing needs to be on C: except the O/S.

You can move your documents folder by a simple CUT and Paste.
If any programs installed, uninstall them, then reinstall on D: or E:, whatever other partitions or dives you have.

1403495 2015-06-25 19:45:00 That question should B addressed to Fried Fish. He is the one being FUNNY and wasting everyone's time.

The extent of my knowledge can B inferred from my join date: Dec 2004, when the new software was installed on pressf1 and my 668 posts; if U look at my header.

Mate, whats up with the attitude .

No one here knows the extent of your knowledge . Since you needed help with a basic issue, its fair to assume limited PC skills (not an insult, just an assumption)

Join date and post count show absolutely nothing about knowledge of anything.
