| 1403330 | 2015-06-22 03:09:00 | Hi Forum, Does anyone take any notice of these scores? I had a quick look at mine and they are somewhat alarming. Many of the 'issues' seem to be related to policies and settings. My computer is only connected to the internet when I need it to be connected. I am using the MS firewall in Win 7 Pro, together with Nod32 Anti-virus, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware. I don't visit dodgy sites and I have never had a virus. Should I be worried? Should I be following the recommendations made by BelArc? Perhaps there are other programmes I should install to reduce the risk of something nasty getting through. I would be interested in any comments. Michael |

| 1403331 | 2015-06-22 03:30:00 | Should I be worried? Probably not. It depends on exactly what it found Should I be following the recommendations made by BelArc? Without knowing what was recommended that cant really be answered Michael I wouldnt fret too much over it. Stop fiddling with it. Just install a good AV & a good malware scanner. Run Winupdate. See , youve done that allready. :-) Dont click on popups, dont open suspicious emails, change the default admin pass on your router . Theres my Security Advisor recommendations for your system. The people that get infected often get infected by doing something silly. Nothing can stop user stupidity from getting a PC infected :p Doing a quick google on Belarc Security Advisor shows its just may not be realistic for the home user |

| 1403333 | 2015-06-22 03:45:00 | Hi Speedy, Many thanks for your sage advice. Much appreciated! I shan't loose any sleep over it. It was a very long list of issues most of which I didn't understand. Another question - BelArc says that I am missing KB3057839. Now, I do keep MS updated. Fired up MS Updates, revealed all the available updates and this one was not one of them. Not sure if there is a problem here or not. Michael |

| 1403335 | 2015-06-22 04:04:00 | There's a trade off between security and usability in my opinion. The more secure your PC is the more of a nuisance it is to use. You've taken enough common sense precautions to be relatively safe. If you want to add anything further an external backup is the best security option and something everyone should consider if you don't already have one. | dugimodo (138) | ||
