| 1402953 | 2015-06-17 21:51:00 | I have a young friend with an Iphone, who for reasons I won't bother you with wants to leave the Apple ecosphere. He has a lot of stuff (notes etc) stored on the phone and in Icloud that he would like to transfer to his Win7 PC. I know nothing about Apple so I'm hoping someone here can advise the best way to make the transfer. I think he has also a bunch of music that he would like to transfer as well. He will eventually be getting an Android or Windows phone and will I presume want then to transfer the stuff to the new phone as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

He should be able to back every thing up to his PC via iTunes and then copy the folder over or back it up to iCloud. |

If he put the music on there from a computer then he must have access to the originals and could just use those again to put the music onto the new device. |

He says he has the stuff backed up on his PC, but it exists in backup form rather than as individual folders. As I said I know nothing about the IOS environment, so I don't know to what extent this is true. I already suspected that he may have to say good bye to his Itunes stuff - unless we can find some other app to enable a transfer. |

| 1402958 | 2015-06-18 01:58:00 | If he bought music through iTunes, it can be downloaded to the PC as mp3 files and then copied to any other phone. If he used Evernote or Onenote for his notes, just sign in on his new phone and the notes will be copied across automatically. If he used the built in Notes application, I'm not sure if they can be transferred easily. Email/Contacts should be easy as well, just sign into whichever account he uses on the new phone. If he stored the contacts locally as opposed to on an email account, he'd need to import them to an email account first. |
