| 1391542 | 2015-01-05 22:28:00 | Saw another article similar yesterday relating to the Aussie's doing the same. In there it was mentioned places like Slingshot who advertise Global Mode to access Netflix etc , may be in trouble as well, especially if people signed up to the ISP only to get Global Mode and its suddenly cut off. Netflix is coming to NZ in March, the guy was on TV the other day saying it will give places like sky a hit in the pocket (wasn't to backward in saying it either) & while he didn't say what content would be shown, it was mentioned all the programs that are on the US Netflix wouldn't be available right away, but would all be added overtime once the contracts run out on providers like Sky. |

Netflix isnt for up to date content. Normally takes about 3 - 6 months for a series or movie to show up. Pretty similar timeline for movies on Sky. Unless its a netflix original and then it's there first. |

That's really good to know - thanks wainuitech. I'd heard Netflix was coming to NZ but read somewhere it was going to be very much a cut-down version. It's good to know that eventually we'll be getting the same content. I wonder if Hulu are going to follow suit and start cracking down on proxy, VPN users? |

| 1391546 | 2015-01-06 01:10:00 | Yeah if you're already accessing netflix I'd keep doing so via your unblocking. The main advantage you'll get for it being officially in NZ, is that Apps will start appearing on smart tvs (and I understand some panasonics it's already showing up) - without having to jump through lots of hoops to get access to it, or pay for it. And if you run a dns service (eg www.unblock-us.com) - especially one that allows region changing, then you'll continue to get access to all the other catalogs. Otherwsie you'll just have to look at the nz catalog. |
