462010 2006-06-10 05:27:00 I just did a reinstall of windows (without formatting), and now all the documents settings have .WINDOWS after them in the name. (because the old ones were left there)

I was wondering if it is possible to change the variables in %ALLUSERSPROFILE% and such to point to the old folder names (and then just remove the .WINDOWS in recovery console so it's the same folder)

How would I do this??

462011 2006-06-10 05:39:00 registry key at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

I'm assuming that changing that will do the trick.

462012 2006-06-10 15:28:00 Well that kinda worked, but everytime I restarted it would change a few back...

So I reinstalled again.

Now there is nothing wrong with it except a folder containing a copy of my old user account files which I cannot access nor delete :waughh:

How to get rid of it???
