I got a one DVD reader and I buy a new DVD-RW and I want to put it in my computer. The problem here is the new one is working but the one one is not working. I heard someone said I need to set up master/slave and something ...I don't know. Can you help me, please! :help: |

on the back of the drive is some jumper pins, usually on new drives they will be set to cable select, you need to set one as master (it's written on the drive ma=master sl/sla=slave cs= cable select) and one as slave...also I dont know if you know or not do not couple optical drives on the same channel as hdd ie hdd on primary ide opticals on secondary |

Some more information on the current setup would be helpful.
You need to put the DVD-RW drive as a master on the secondary cable and the DVD reader as a slave on the same cable with the jumpers corresponding. |
