| 462307 | 2006-06-11 10:12:00 | Start/Programs/Mozilla Firefox/Mozilla Firefox (safe mode) Run for a while like this see if it still crashes. If it doesn't then it is one of your extensions. Come back here to find out how to find the offending extension, if that is the problem. |

| 462308 | 2006-06-11 10:23:00 | Some extensions don't play well with the latest F/fox. If you updated to 1.5 it should disable incompatible extensions, but some could still cause problems. If you've got a few extensions running try it with as few as poss and see if it's more stable. there's a list of problem extensions here: kb.mozillazine.org Make sure you've got the latest flash and java as well, but presumably you'd know if you were trying to use them when it crashed. |

| 462310 | 2006-06-11 10:44:00 | Sounds like java might be your problem then . You can get the latest from here: . mozilla . org/firefox/plugins/" target="_blank">addons . mozilla . org About the 3rd one down the page . If you click on tools> extensions at the top of the F/fox page it will also show you what extensions F/fox disabled when you updated . PS note that java is a plug-in and not an extension, so it won't show up with your list of extensions . Sometimes there ARE new extensions on the developers homepage/site that F/fox doesn't know about and the best way is to go to the original dev site to see if there's a later extension that works with F/fox 1 . 5 HTH |

| 462312 | 2006-06-11 11:26:00 | "Sounds like java might be your problem then. You can get the latest from here: addons.mozilla.org About the 3rd one down the page." On that site the latest is stated as being "For Windows: Version 5.0 Update 1" Whereas from Sun Microsystems I have just downloaded Sun Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 7 Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) provides a complete environment for applications development on desktops and servers and for deployment in embedded environments. It also serves as the foundation for the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and Java Web Services. Author: Sun Microsystems, Inc. Date: 2006-06-01 Size: 18.6 Mb License: Freeware Requires: Win All www.java.com And there was a recent thread on Jave, about uninstalling the Java you have presently installed before loading this new one. Found it pressf1.pcworld.co.nz |
