I had done all their little tests etc and end the end got shifted up to a manager type that now deals with us, we have a group case number as I got others here to also ring in about their speeds as well . If its still being looked at as an individual case they tend to stall and give excuses . If you can get others off the same exchange to join in they have to admit its the exchange . Still not sorted yet but hey, free broadband for enough people should motivate them to get off their rear ends a lot quicker . . . . |

| 462676 | 2006-09-26 22:30:00 | Here's an observation... When by Xtra connection was originally upgraded, my D-Link DSL 302g modem showed the speed as 4288kbps. But for the last month, it has showed 1200. And before anyone suggests it, no - I don't exceed my 5Gb data cap. I had a look at the D-Link site and found some updated firmware for this modem. I flashed it and *voila*, back up to 4288kbps again. Heres the release notes: R2.01M.B3NZ 1. Added compatibility with some ADSL2/2+ enabled DSLAMs. (Note: Modem does not support ADSL2/2+ speeds, it will connect at regular ADSL speeds) I wonder if Telecom have upgraded the DSLAM in my local exchange? Let me know if anyone else has struck this cos I'd hate to think that Xtra users with Xtra supplied equipment are suffering from less than advertised performance while Xtra collect the revenue and don't proactively advise of the fix. |

| 462677 | 2006-09-27 02:19:00 | This is exactly what happens to me. The exchange is 1.2km away from me so it's not that. Telecom told me that the telephone lines that connect to my house are limiting it. Is that really the case? Can that happen? | Fishy (10540) | ||
