462783 2006-06-13 09:08:00 I've been making some basic abstract images using Photoshop 6. However to move into a certain more advanced style I need renders made in a 3D modelling programme. Now I could just go and get renders off the internet, But I'm stuck if I want a custom one (or I have to find someone I can ask to make the render for me)

My question is...What are the top free 3D modelling programmes out there? Seeing as this is just a hobby/interest I'm not willing to spend the $200-$1500 for the well known 3D modelling software out there.

462784 2006-06-13 09:15:00 Blender and anim8or are two free versions.
I wouldn't mind getting a copy of Maya 5 cheap.
I made a simple basic animation of a plane launching a bomb at a building (imagef1.net.nz) and wouldnt mind expanding on that :D
