462923 2006-06-14 02:27:00 Does anyone have an easy way to transfer my old email and address book from a Win2000 laptop running outlook express V 6.0 with corrupt HDD that I can access C Drive but not reliably run programs on over to a PC running XP Home and another laptop running WIn2000 with OE 6.0
Thanks

462924 2006-06-14 03:51:00 Take the laptop hard drive out put it into a external usb 2.5 hard drive enclosure and plug it into the other computer and do a search for *.wab and *.dbx files lorry (8865)
462925 2006-06-26 06:07:00 Where would I put any .wab or .dbx files on the Machine running XP Home if it has multiple identities logging in ?

thanks

462926 2006-06-26 06:16:00 It depends on who the emails belong to. Either in the emails' owner's account or in the All Users account.

Just be aware that any existing emails and addresses in DBX and WAB files will be replaced.

Another solution may be to put the DBX files in a new Outlook Express folder somewhere on the hard drive then in Outlook Express's Options change the path to that folder if all users are going to access those files.

Personally I find multiple user accounts on a computer to be nothing but a pain in the neck.
