463605 2006-06-16 09:43:00 thanks, but i'd found that already. can't quite pinpoint where the battery goes. the manual only has chapter 6 - need more on the mobo. zanny (10443)
463606 2006-06-17 02:56:00 I'd be inclined to look under the keyboard, if there aren't any removable panels on the bottom of the case. Anywhere else would need careful dismantling.

(You can't assume that anything in a laptop is easy to replace ... I've got one old Compaq laptop which needs an unusual lithium cell. I took it apart with a 2032 all ready for it, and discovered the 1220 in there. I put it back together again. It can wait. ;) )

463607 2006-06-17 03:53:00 I recently took one out of an HP laptop.

It required a complete disassembly, including the entire motherboard.
It was underneath the motherboard, with no means of access until all other components (drives, CPU fan assembly, all plugs and sockets, etc) were removed to be able to remove the motherboard, at least an hour of microsurgery involved.
