| 463597 | 2006-06-16 08:08:00 | Hi there. I have around 5 computer that are running different versions of windows. Windwos XP pro, windows 2000 and windows 98. Is it possible to network these computers through a router. If so can some one tell me how or provide me with a URL that can help | CaptinMoor (8392) | ||
| 463598 | 2006-06-16 08:22:00 | Hmmmm, Hello, where to start, a router is a good idea to network these macine, as it provides the gateway to all with also address translation, firewall and internet access with loads of options, other than that a simple hub, switch and IP address for network. You will learn nothing with-out figuring it out yourself, etc. Yes you need a guide, but sorry I dont have 1, google is your friend, explore and then, when you know how you wish to connect, you will know what to ask of us. Edit: There ya go, a start...www.pcstats.com |

| 463600 | 2006-06-16 09:49:00 | Ok well maybe I should have been a bit more specific. I have a router. I have configured it to the DSC Xtra Specs. I have set the DNS for xtra but it still faults out. Also when connecting the other computers to this netwrok, is the gateway the router/modems I.P address? Also how do I find out my own IP address. Thanks. | CaptinMoor (8392) | ||
