463427 2006-06-15 23:14:00 Up until recently I have been using AVI MPEG RM MOV Joiner for joining large movie files together.

That program however now does not do the job, as it keeps falling over.

1. Does TmpGenc allow for the merging of 2 files into 1.

2. Does anyone have a recommendation of another program to use.

I have tried about 5 other programs and none of them work either. I am thinking it may be the codec but have installed the latest codec pakcs, and Gspot recognises the streams as well.

463428 2006-06-15 23:31:00 You can use QuickTime Pro to join videos together (it's not free though). maccrazy (6741)
463429 2006-06-16 01:41:00 From TMPGenc help
[MPEG Tool]-[Merge & Cut]
Divide one MPEG file into multiple files, or merge separate files into a contiguous file.

"Merge & Cut" can divide one MPEG file in multiple files or merge separate files into one contiguous MPEG file. For example, one would use the merge feature if one wanted to add sequence to the start of a movie, or use the cut feature if one wanted to cut out the ending credits.

But.....I haven't played with this program yet, so don't ask how!!

463430 2006-06-16 03:13:00 Not much of a help- I've tried a few including Mediajoiner and HJsplit. Not one of them works on my XP box.

The only one that does is M/soft Moviemaker, but it splits each file into small parts that you have to drag'n'drop into a timeline one by one... if you're making a big movie from a few files you might have to drag'n'drop lot's of parts to join the movie.

Maybe it's a M/Soft plot that only their prog works on XP?

463431 2006-06-16 04:39:00 For AVI files I use VirtualDub

http://www.virtualdub.org/

I find it excellent.
