| 463409 | 2006-06-15 20:16:00 | Hey people, I gotta problem with my machine going into standby. I overclocked it recently and now when it goes into standby it has gone all funky. I can wake it out of standby ok, it's just that the screen stays in bed, and the only way to sort the lazy bugger out is to hit reset. I have disabled power saving for now, but I would like to have it back coz I usually leave this on all the time coz I have stuff on schedule that normally wakes it to run. Any ideas anybody...or am I just gonna have to admit it doesnt like power saving with overclock? dont know if it's of any help/relevance but machine is: Athlon X2 3800+ @ 2.4GHz 1GB Corsair XL ram 2 X WD Raptor WD740G Raid 0 gigabyte k8nxp-9 mobo gigabyte 7800gtx Audigy 2 ZS Windoze XP pro |

They might work properly at a greater speed . Often they won't . If it doesn't work properly after your speed adjustment, surely the cure is obvious . ;) |

It's only just started to do the hangup problem and I really dont want to set it back to normal as it moved my score in 3dmark05 from just over 8000 to just over 10000 (which obviously has improved my games somewhat) I just cant put my finger on what could cause it to pack.....if there was an option available to to reset the vga bios upon wakeup in my system bios I would try that but as there aint I can't. Its not a heat or stability issue I think because it would evidence itself when I am playing games I am sure...so I guess I am gonna hve to live with it and leave power save off cause I aint relinquishing hte performance gains! | straitjacket (9698) | ||
