| 464338 | 2006-06-19 05:42:00 | Hello, my computer died and I'm borrowing an old one of my daughter's. It runs ME slowly(it is old and short on RAM), but if I press CTRL+ALT+DEL I get the following in the Close Program box:- Explorer Avgemc Avgcc Hpcmpmgr Systray Hpwuschd2 Hpztsb10. Are these causing it to start/run slowly? Can I delete them from the startup in 'msconfig' without harm being done? Thanks in advance for any help.............Sarum |

| 464339 | 2006-06-19 05:58:00 | I doubt those entries will be causing the computer to run slowly but if you wish you can untick the following in msconfig: Hpcmpmgr Hpwuschd2 Hpztsb10 Leave the others alone. Would suggest that you check out this FAQ (www.pressf1.co.nz 5) for info on tips to try and speed things up a bit. |

I've been to this FAQ(#15) before. My daughter suggests I do a clean install - if I can find the CD; which may be in a box somewhere. I'm retired and have time, so I thought I'd go through the FAQ15 and see what happens. I think I shall be back again(index.dat/spider/wiz.exe spring to mind). .................sarum. |
