464043 2006-06-18 04:04:00 I'm just reformatting a 15gig drive for Win98. Never done a partition before, so thought this a good opportunity to play. Will be using FDISK.

1. Suggested partition sizes eg c: 13 gig, d:2 gig etc?
2. Which one do I install the operating system on?

Any other tips welcome (beside "Google is your friend" )

Thanks

464044 2006-06-18 04:38:00 Hard to imagine those tiny drives nowadays. But I'd go 10 gigs for Windows and your programmes, and 5 gigs for your My Documents and other data files. Greg (193)
464045 2006-06-18 04:39:00 i don't like useing fdisk for doing partitioning. randish is quite good.

your choice on sizes, all depends on if there is any chance you will upgrade to w2k/xp. if there is then make it big enough. otherwise i would go withc drive being 5 gig and d drive 10 gig.
