| 463988 | 2006-06-18 01:07:00 | I know recently there has been a lot of complain about slow adsl connections. This is what I get on my so called 3.5Mb connection www.imagef1.net.nz On a good day, I might get between 500-900Kp , before they did the speed upgrade, I used to get 1.5Mb to 1.7Mb on my 2Mb plan. I wonder is it the exchange that's doing this or just xtra itself? I'm planning to switch to another ISP, do you guys think it will help at all? My Netgear ADSL router displays DownStream Connection Speed 7616 kbps UpStream Connection Speed 320 kbps so the line connection is ok ? |

Nope, its your exchange youre connected to, its overloaded like we have said in other threads. Where in NZ are you? The only thing you can do is talk to Xtra & complain. |

| 463990 | 2006-06-18 01:15:00 | Your line condition appears to be in very good condition. 58k is mighty slow, ring up xtra and see what they can do (read: probably nothing). Most people have noticed some drop in speed due to telecom overloading the exchanges or something. However be wary with those speed tests, did you get 58k only once or is it consistent? You can't take one outlier result as a claim against xtra... | DangerousDave (697) | ||
