i'm with orcon broadband. well couple of days ago my modem messd up up :( and so orcon told me either get a replacement or give it for them to repair. so i went and bought a new coz i had no time to go all the way to north shore and also i wanted a quick fix. i bought a Netgear DG834 ADSL Firewall Router with 4 Ports. so i set it up as dey say on the manual. but it keeps saying it cannot detect the modem or router when i run their stup wizard. meanwhile i can see that my broadband is connected thru the icon on the taskbar and seems to be running. but i cannot surf the net. also the lights in the modem light up according to the user manual correcty :stare: . the status box for the connection shows dat ip addresses were obtained from the DCHP automatically and the default gateway matches what is sed in the modem. what i kept seeing was if i disconnected and reconncected the modem then 'another' connection call the internet connection keeps poping up but dissapears afetr a while. its comes under internet gateway in the my network window. if i click on repair in the status box of the broadband connection it says ip address cannot be renewed. one more thing for sum reason i could not manually access the router interface by typing http://192.168.0.1. - the web page jst crashes. - i have a attached the filter to the wall outlet - then and extension from the adsle output to the modem. pleeze help need the net desperately or first semster examz!!!! on wednesday!!!!! |
