Hi Folks. An area I am not familiar with. I use Ghost for all backups. Have an old friend who uses XP to create backups and then to burn them to CD. Is there a simple (any) way to get XP to spread a large backup over more than one CD? Thanks. |

I presume your friend is using the native Window Backup Utility? It cannot save directly to a CD-drive, so you normally create the backup file and save it on the hard drive and then burn this backup file to CD. I don't know if the native XP CD burner application can span CDs, but third party CD burning software (such as Nero) can do this. |

Yes, thanks Jen. I have Ghost and use it as you mention. Unfortunately I am not local to him and it does appear that he is using the default Windows in the way you suggest. He backs up to a folder and then burns the folder to a CD. He is a little envious of my ability to stretch over more than one CD but at the same time he plans not to spend money...... |
