| 465464 | 2006-06-25 01:43:00 | I just noticed there are also very slight faint lines bending around the centre of the screen, I'll draw a pic . . . . Anyone know whats wrong? That is called moire effect and is an artefact that commonly appears when focus is off or the CRT is failing . Read the FAQ linked in this thread, run the monitor for about 24 hours to allow any gas accumulation to be absorbed internally (there are parts called "getters" inside the tube that soak up gas molecules) then follow the procedure outlined in full . Be careful not to touch any metalwork as it is all live, and keep one hand in your pocket while adjusting . Backing off the contrast can also help, but if following the FAQ doesn't fix it and produce a good sharp image then it is probably stuffed . Cheers Billy 8-{) |
