| 465982 | 2006-06-25 07:13:00 | I am selling my old 80GB IDE storage drive to make way for a SATAII, the best value I can find is the Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 160GB for $110 Would like to know, are these drives still 'deathstars', or have they become better quality after Hitachi bought them from IBM??? Does anyone have any themselves to speak of? |

| 465987 | 2006-06-26 02:05:00 | I have had both Maxtor and Deskstars die with no warning, Seagate are the best, I have had one of them fail but it gave pleanty of notice and Ascent replaced it very fast extra warranty can never be bad  just my :2cents: worth |
