465843 2006-06-24 21:55:00 Only do the following, IF the Symantec program you're trying to install, is the only Symantec program on the hard drive .

If you've got other Symantec programs installed now and they're working, deleting the following will screw them up totally . And they'll all have to be uninstalled and reinstalled .

Well, the other only thing to do is go to program files, delete the Symantec/norton folder and then delete the Symantec shared folder in program files / common files .

Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec .

Delete the Symantec folder .

Then go here C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Symantec

And delete the Symantec folder .

Then go into the registry, and go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Symantec or whatever its called .

Delete this key ONLY .

And also go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec and delete this key . Then run ccleaner again, click on issues and click on scan for issues .

And remove everything that comes up .

If that doesnt work, the installshield file maybe screwed .

465846 2006-06-25 03:25:00 There's AVG, Avast, which have free versions .

Whether they remove anything, is another matter .

And Avirt I think it's called .
