| 466772 | 2006-06-28 04:38:00 | I know they are a few years old and not used that often but why won't they open ? A CDrw and DVD r only won't respond to button pushing ( lights do flash ) or eject from their menus. Thanks |

| 466774 | 2006-06-28 05:01:00 | It's possible for programmes to "lock" the drives . This stops the buttons from working . That paperclip trick works on the mechanics of the drive . . . it doesn't use the electronics (except for one drive I encountered which had to have power connected to the drive) . If the trays are stuck, that should fix it . If it doesn't, look for programmes which might use a CD, just sitting, doing nothing . |
