466725 2006-06-27 20:26:00 I'm running a Gateway 7210GX laptop..it's still in the current form for being considered in the new models..my problem is with my dvd/cd burner..which of course is built in..I can copy my DVD movies all day long, but when I go to burn them to a new DVD disk it refuses to burn..I keep getting operation failed, or wrong data source, insert new DVD and try again..this is with every brand of DVD I've tried to use..I use Nero 7 ultra, but also have several DVD progs I've tried with the same problem..any help would greatly be appreciated as I have ton's of movies I would like to copy for my kids but can't do anything but copy them to my harddrive. TIA... LadyB (10632)

Are you sure it is not just a CD writer and DVD read only?
Did you check your device manager to see if it is the above?

It could be just a combo drive.

Try a different brand of DVD disc

My 2 cents

.. or if you are using a DVD burn capable drive, are you using DVD+R or DVD-R?
