| 466569 | 2006-06-27 01:57:00 | Hi everyone. I have two machines XP & 98 networked via a hub. XP has a dial up modem and i have ICS sharing on the network. Firewall is Sygate (free). Everything is sweet, no problems. Now I have subscribed to Clear cable broadband for installation in 2 weeks and I want to make sure I have my options sorted before they install. Presently my XP with dial up is in the lounge; my 98 is in the study with the hub. I want to ditch the dial up from XP and put the cable/modem in the study. Can anyone help me with the options I have please. I thought I could run the cable into the hub - is that right or do I need something else? |
