467485 2006-06-30 22:13:00 Has anyone tried Sipserve http://www.sipserve.co.nz ?
Their prices to PSTN seem cheaper than Skype, but you have to download and configure a soft phone (not a biggy).
Their interface doesn't work as well as Skype; when I bought some credits I had to do the transaction on IE (not my browser of choice) and it will be a day or two before it completes, whereas with Skype the credits are there to use almost immediately.
But I thought it was worth a try as its NZ and possibly a bit cheaper, even though its a bit rough around the edges at this stage.

467486 2006-07-03 07:57:00 My credits came through and I tested it on an 0800 line in the US - pretty good. Also my daughter in Auckland, sounded fine this end and she said voice quality was pretty reasonable her end.
I had a bit of trouble setting it up (which was caused by an outage at SIP-serve), e-mailed their support and got a prompt answer.
Next thing try it out on son in UK.
