467292 2006-06-29 10:42:00 Does anyone get disconnected when router shows connected? I use Ihug and using D-Link 502T ADSL Router.
Does anyone have any idea whether it is ISP fault or my Router fault? My router is not even 1/2 yrs old.

467294 2006-06-29 11:57:00 Might be your cracker mates??? Crackers? Maybe not. It just disconnects when the router shows connected so I have to reset the whole router. MTLance (6768)

No-one can provide meaningful help on such useless info - if you want us to help, try being a little more forthcoming with the detail.

467296 2006-06-29 22:27:00 Hi

Had a similar problem with a different D-link router (which had only been in use a month) and it was the Firmware that needed to be updated. Contact D-link technical support outlining the problem and see what they think.

Smithie, didn't changing the DNS settings resolve the problem in the end?

467298 2006-06-30 05:12:00 LOL, why do you think Telecom gives these routers out free?. They are cheap and crap SolMiester (139)
467299 2006-06-30 05:36:00 Hi FoxyMX

You betcha -changing the DNS settings certainly solved that particular problem I had. Everything is going sweet as now :)
I also had a completely different problem with the router dropping the connection. D-link thought that the Firmware need updating, but I had a big problem trying to do that and in the finish they replaced the router. I received great service from D-link, and this is why I suggested MTLance contact their help desk.

SmithieSwap my router again? I bought it from Mt Eden, so far away from North Shore here. Then what should I do? Maybe I should contact the Ihug first and contact D-Link tommorow.

467301 2006-06-30 21:44:00 (Swap my router again?) Sounds as though you have already had problems in the past.

If you dont want to contact D-link technical support, then by all means contact Ihug, at least that should be able to give an indication as to what is causing your particular problem.
