| 467254 | 2006-06-29 05:44:00 | Hi guys, I am endeavoring to reformat my PC once I get my new DVD drive to back stuff up with. I have never done it before but I gather you need some sort of boot disc for the OS (I run XP Home w/SP2). The problem is I never got a XP CD with my HP PC when I bought it a few years ago. Is there any way that I can make myself one? Thanks, Paul |

But if you can find the i386 folder on the hp discs you may be able to slave the drive to another computer, format the harddrive then copy the i386 folder over. Then you will need a boot floppy or CD, boot then navigate to c:\i386 and run setup.exe |
