| 467291 | 2006-06-29 16:04:00 | Maybe not yet . . but soon . . . the actual problem was the incensed people trying to get to M$ Updates before the SP-2 thing goes all into the loo . . (another NZ term), and they get denied any updates at all when that deadline passes . The next thing is a deadman's switch that turn off Windows for those not up with SP-2 and a host of other things like WGA . There's been a leak that Windows will be disabled around the 1st of September for those without SP-2 and the WGA permissions accepted and run by the user . Fear of black screens is making many more people really get serious about getting the updates and staying on M$'s good side and that may the reason for very busy servers Does anybody see the unique change of attitude by M$ with the timing of Mr . Bill's leaving the store to run by a different executive officer? Hmmmmm . . . . . . and according to insider's he is a sreaming-obscene-foul-mouthed nutcase who demands that things go his way or you are fired . Maybe he ran out of insults and decided he could not take the pressure any more and semi-retired to collect aluminum cans outta dumpsters for therapy . Vista may indeed just turn out to be an SP-xx for XP . Looks like they are trying to plug any leaky holes, now especially in the multi-licensed versions that habe been circulated around and getting updates and patches even though the user isn't employed any more ore never was at all at the multiple-licensed business . |
