2006-06-29 00:49:00 | Hello, im here cuz i'm having problems with my comp, when playing games... I have directX 9.0c installed, and some games, just wont work when i want to play them. I've noticed that this could be the problem with directX, because the games i did want to play, was using direct x 7, or earlier.. I know this, because i've tested it... dxdiag... direct draw test...: no problem, Direct 3D test: 9passed, 8passed, 7 NOT passed, Error: error on 8. step: HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Not enough memory) I dunno this why, thats why im askin here. I've got 512mb of DDR ram, i think. How could be memory the problem??? And, let me mention, that these games were working before, just somehow a day passed, and it wont work anymore.:'( I've tried installing other display drivers, but it not worked. I'm having the most problems with "Diablo II" because, when the video test finished, it says no video modes found, and this computer cannot run this game. VERY strange... I've asked my bro to look over this problem, but he only said: "i cant do anything with it. Play an other game.." And that's why im askin the professionals.;) Here is my dxdiag info in txt format: dancsogames.uw.hu (In the txt there are some hungarian words, because i'm from hungary, and sorry for my english too, if i wrote something wrong) I hope my problem can be solved:(

2006-06-29 01:01:00 | Jó napot! (I'm 1/2 Hungarian) But mostly I can only speak food... Anyway: RADEON 9550 Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. Chip type: ATI RADEON 9550 AGP (0x4153) DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz) Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4153&SUBSYS_41531FD3&REV_00 Display Memory: n/a Current Mode: 1152 x 864 (32 bit) (100Hz) This could be your problem. The 9550 is not exactly the greatest gaming card and you have a huge resolution. Try turning it down to 800x600 and see what happens. Additionally update the chipset drivers for your motherboard and also try a different ATI driver. (Not the newest - try an older one)

2006-06-29 11:19:00 | I've tried 800*600, with 85 hz, still nothing. And I've also have installed 5.3 catalyst i think, the newest is 6.6. I will try another earlier driver, but i dont think it will help. I've also had an omega driver lately, and it did do the same thing. So... I will need a new video card?:( Hell... I've had an Nvidia Geforce4 before, and recently I bought this card. Now i have to buy another. great. :( Which one should i try? | Dancso666 (10640) | |
2006-06-29 11:26:00 | if its failing the directX test then its often drivers or directX itself. have you done a system file check? | tweak'e (69) | |
2006-06-29 11:33:00 | had a look through the log. not sure but i thibk your running old motherboard drivers. update to the latest. | tweak'e (69) | |
2006-07-01 21:13:00 | I think the video card isn't making the problem. Because I've put in my GeForce4 card, and all happened the same. And, motherboard driver could not be the problem, because i said all the games worked a while. Maybe the troublemaker is my windows? Do you think i have to reinstall windows? | Dancso666 (10640) | |
2006-07-02 05:04:00 | motherboard driver could not be the problem, because i said all the games worked a while if you use that logic then there its not a problem on your pc ! lol. download latest drivers, install and see if it helps. have you done SFC as suggested before?

2006-07-03 13:23:00 | Well im not sure how to make a system file check^^... Im maybe a noob, or i just dont know because i have hungarian windows, and i dont know wich one is the SFC...

2006-07-03 13:55:00 | Display Memory: n/a Looks like that's your problem. Same thing happened to me, I never figured out how, but it did. Mine also showed this: DDraw Status: Not Available D3D Status: Enabled AGP Status: Not Available Try running the DirectX installer again, if that doesn't work something like 'Direct X Happy Uninstall" can be used to revert to DX 8.1, where you can re-update to 9.0c, which should then work. I nearly got it working with that method but then 9.0c refused to install again(although 8.1 worked perfect) so I had to reinstall windows :( To run 'SFC': Start -> Run, type "SFC /Scannow" (without quotes) to run the System file checker It also might be a chipset driver problem. make sure you have the latest chipset/motherboard drivers installed.

2006-07-03 15:45:00 | I've done the SFC, and a window poped up, i waited for the progress to finish, then nothing. I've looked in C:/program files/Directx\, but the directory was COMPLETELY EMPTY, exept another empty directory named setup. I tried to reinstall DX9.0c, but when i clicked the "install" button, it immedeatly "finished" so i think it did nothing. And i've also tried to uninstall directX in the windows settings or what, where i can uninstall any programs. I didnt see there directx too. So i dont know what to do... Windows reinstall?:( (it would be really bad, as i have tons of important stuff on my comp, and i only have an 512mb space- mp3 player, wich cant carry my whole important stuff. On the other hand, my bro does NOT want to reinstall it for me, because he says its long, and boring. ehm to quote: "I wont be using up my time for reinstalling, and setting up your windows, as i could watch anime.") Anyways, maybe i can install it myself too...
