1393843 2015-02-09 08:09:00 Hey Guys

Did any of you self employed people just get your ACC invoice.
Within mine, is a little flyer informing me that the WorkSafe component is going up from 5cents per $100 to 8 cents per $100.
That is a 60% increase, by my rudimentary maths.
I would love to be able to say that I have increased my rates in the last 3 years, but I would be lying.
It is only these quasi government organisations that can put up the prices at their whim and there is not a damn thing that we can do about it.
Bastards!!

1393846 2015-02-09 21:16:00 Would this be the same ACC thats built up a literal fortune in accumulated funds (ie by overcharging)
yet do everything in their power to try & avoid payouts , and are famous for inventing excuses not to pay for the surgery required to fix injuries actually covered by ACC.

1393847 2015-02-09 21:36:00 Nope, still waiting....I asked them once and they said unlike the IRD forms, ACC is not sent at any particular time, it's random.

How helpful...and it sure has been to.

And yep, it's a ripoff the selfemployed get stuck with.
Probably a ripoff employers get stuck with too.

So that when you do have an accident they can turn round and say no, sorry, you had/have a pre-existing condition, we're not paying.

Just checked my Cashbook payments: 6/07, 12/07, 12/08, 4/10, 4/11, 8/12, 5/13. The last payment was $300 MORE than the first payment. Don't want to know what my next one will be.
