1393610 2015-02-04 23:14:00 Why does the media continue to report on the protesters at Waitangi? Just because it’s news?

Would it not be better to report on the majority that are celebrating the day with a bbq and a beer?

I’d rather hear about those that celebrated, not those that made a mockery of the day.

Let’s hear it for the majority and not the few that are intent on making it a day of shame.

Bit like the news online going on about those two that got caught / Filmed in the office the other day --- every day since WHY does it need to be brought up.

Non Maori need not apply.

same reason that you post a thread about it . ;)
Now if nobody was interested, only then would it go away .
But we all talk it up & complain .

Nobody is forced to watch or discuss the protests . Just ignore it . No big deal, life goes on, its almost forgotten weeks later .
Change the channel when the news comes on . Problem solved

The TV news is really about selling advertising time . Thats what drives it, and thats why we get stories about someones cat stuck in a drain, protesters or whatever .

Anyway, let them have there 15minutes .
Better for us to have them vent their issues there, away from me & you, than try & suppress their free speech & right to protest .

Because there is usually some ruckus . Usually involving that woman .
And that's news . . . not people quietly having a nice day out at the beach or whatever .

1393617 2015-02-05 06:38:00 Winston Peters was quite right when he said that the Treaty Of Waitangi should be put back into the history books where it belongs. mzee (3324)
