| 1393559 | 2015-02-04 05:21:00 | So what's everyone's favourite go to glue in a gluing emergency? I see not every glue is created equal and there's different glues for different folks. Y'all seem a knowledgable and friendly bunch, how's bout sharing your sticky secrets? |

| 1393563 | 2015-02-04 06:05:00 | Hot glue gun, not really the best glue but the fastest, removable, and sticks to almost anything. An old favourite for general purpose has always been UHU clear contact adhesive, and for joins that need to be strong I use araldite 2 part epoxy if it's suitable. I guess superglue has it's place as well (mainly for sticking fingers together) but I find it's actually pretty limited in what applications it's suitable for. So no one answer, use the right glue for the job. For example if you are gluing a downpipe you go get the proper adhesive as none of the ones I mentioned will do the job properly and whatever that stuff is called it actually melts and welds the plastic together forming a water tight seal but for different plastics it either won't work or it'll destroy them. |
