You may remember neuroscientist Miguel Nicolelis he built the brain-controlled exoskeleton that allowed a paralyzed man to kick the first ball of the 2014 World Cup. Whats he working on now? Building ways for two minds (rats and monkeys, for now) to send messages brain to brain. Watch to the end for an experiment that, as he says, will go to "the limit of your imagination." | 1393468 | 2015-02-06 10:12:00 | Brain to brain communication does seem to develop between two individuals with close emotional links, twins in particular, and also savants, but over the years of our marriage, Mrs T and I have been often taken by what appears to be communication over distance. For example, when she was working her finish times varied by anything up to 45 minutes, and her time of arrival home was equally unpredictable as she often had to do shopping for her employer or for us after work. No matter how early or late she was, more often than not, and much too often to just be chance, I would have the kettle boiling when she came down the driveway, something just told me that I should do it at that particular moment. We have joked about it often, and I've always said that if I needed her to come home, all I had to do was put the kettle on and she would turn up in the driveway. It has happened too often, and her hours too erratic for it to just be chance. Cheers Billy 8-{) :illogical |

| 1393470 | 2015-02-07 00:06:00 | A very long time ago I was emotionally involved with a 15 year old girl, I was 23. I remember that we would start saying the same thing at once, also if I looked at a deck of cards she could tell me what colour they were. I often wonder how this could have developed, but haven't seen her for 54 years. | mzee (3324) | ||

| 1393474 | 2015-02-07 06:04:00 | The talk is about scientific methods of using sensors to relay information direct from brain to brain. Very interesting stuff and nothing to do with anyone's imaginary Psychic experiences. I'm not saying there's no possibility of such things but I've never seen anything more that a slight hint of it and never anything that was definite so I tend to believe people convince themselves of things that just aren't real. Yes that may seem harsh, but there are usually rational explanations or simple coincidence and other various reasons for things people think are more than they really are. There's been a million dollars on offer for anyone who can prove any psychic abilities for more than a decade and it's never been claimed. Either psychics don't exist or every single one of them has no interest in money. skepdic.com We often pick up on many subtle cues without being aware of it, our brain processes a lot more input than what we consciously are aware of but that doesn't make it supernatural. Similarly a friend who was staying with me once remarked how amazing it was my dog always got exited about 2 minutes before I walked in the door after work. He didn't believe me when I said he just hears the car coming and knows what it sounds like. The next day we swapped cars and my dog didn't get exited and starting barking when I pulled up the driveway. Rational explanation 1, psychic abilities 0 |
