Brainless, malicious, incompetent self-protecting dolts, yep.

1393086 2015-01-27 19:03:00 Someone needs to remind them they are Public Servants not Tax Collectors.

They should also be reminded that Prevention is better than Cure and helping to avoid an accident makes more financial sense than prosecuting after.

Unfortunately, you give some people a uniform and some epaulettes and they become drunk with power.

And just as a comparison whilst in Aus a while ago I was concerned I might have been over their limit after a bit of a session, so I asked a cop at a checkpoint I noticed adjacent to the pub. He asked how much I’d had to drink, I told him and he burst out laughing claiming I’d be way over the limit. However, he was happy to test me but he had to programme something into his analyser because otherwise his boss would want to know why I wasn’t arrested. Well I did fail, but only just, so I was told not to have anything more to drink for an hour and if they were still there I could try again. I did as he suggested but an hour later they’d moved on so away I went. An interesting part of our conversation was when checking the reading he made the statement “Sometimes I have doubts about these things”, referring of course to the Breathalyser, which has made me wonder how accurate they are. Experience has taught me that the man in the field using any sort of implement has a much better idea of its shortfalls than the shiny ass in the office.

Anyway, like Winston and others I have reservations about the focus and direction of our Police Force.
