1393120 2015-01-27 09:19:00 Can someone shed some lights on as to how to get it working on my Win8.1 machine?

I have uninstalled Silverlight and reinstalled it, but still can't load the video. I've also disabled Adblock Plus.
It also won't work with IE, too. Dont know if ths will help, dont have lightbox.

But have a look at the following page, number 4 & 5 have a couple of links to test your Browsers / Settings. On the link at the end of 4D theres a option to detect the browser, it also shows whats enabled and whats not. On this 8.1 Java is disabled.

1393121 2015-01-27 10:14:00 Thanks, wainuitech. Checked all settings, they are all set accordingly, Silverlight uninstalled and reinstalled (a couple of times) Java enabled, Adblock plus disabled, ... etc., etc.

But still can't get it to work! Maybe it's not compatible with Win8.1.

Anyone here with Win8.1 could get it to work?

I've dropped Lightbox an email for help. See how it goes.

1393122 2015-01-27 19:36:00 My mate's Win8.1 works OK with lightbox, therefore it's not Win8.1 problem.

It could be my silverlight version issue: Silverlight finder shows I have an older version installed as here:

6173 or HERE (http://www.silverlightdownload.com/)

When I clicked on the download the latest version "HERE" button, it brings me to this site (www.microsoft.com) which there's nowhere I can find a download link for the latest version.

Funny thing is, after I have uninstalled Silverlight (which I did a couple of times already), Microsoft Update doesn't give me the latest version, it always gives me version 5.1.30514.0.

What is the latest version now and where can I download it?

1393123 2015-01-27 19:49:00 I'm using Firefox on 8.1 no problems and IE11 on Windows 10 as well. Didn't do anything special though, just clicked the silverlight link and installed it from the lightbox page when it popped up. dugimodo (138)
1393124 2015-01-27 19:53:00 I did it a couple of times already, dugimodo.

Maybe, Lightbox doesn't like my computer. LOL

I'm running Lightbox on Win8.1 through Chrome and it's working fine. I did have an issue a couple of months ago with a version of Silverlight that was incompatible and would suggest that this is where your problems lie.

Unfortunately I don't remember the details, but the solution did involve uninstalling Silverlight and going back to an earlier version (but I see from your post above that your version of Silverlight is the same as mine).

Have you tried Chrome or Firefox?

1393126 2015-01-27 21:47:00 I am using Firefox and IE 11, both don't work, however, I am reluctant to install and use Chrome for one reason or another. LOL

I am quite confused that SilverLight detected that I have an older version but there doesn't seem to have a new version available!

I did a search and found that there's a SilverLight update KB3011970 (support.microsoft.com) which may fix the problem but where can I get this update?

I don't think "upgrading Silverlight" (an oxymoron) is what you need to do here, given that I had problems when upgrading to the latest version.

If a restart doesn't fix the issue then Lightbox Support is your best bet...

Silverlight wont work on Chrome for much longer.
www.theinquirer.net

Even MS have given up on it .
"In 2013, Microsoft announced that they had ceased development on Silverlight except for patches and bugfixes"

Considering lightbox spend $20Mil in total to setup the operation, you would have thought they would have known . Perhaps they bought the software to run all this from the bargain bin
;)

You'd have thought so, wouldn't you? :)

But really, if the technology answer was Silverlight, it must have been a pretty silly question...

But it will be yet another reason for me to stop using the service...
