| 1404912 | 2015-07-16 06:40:00 | Oh..I had a look at mybb.com and it seems quite OK. Does phpbb offer free hosting as well? Their site have suggestions for hosting sites so I assume they don't offer free hosting. ProBoard, mybb.com and Google Group all offer similar features so will test drive them this weekend and let everyone know of my progress. Thanks for all your help. Keep any suggestions coming. | ephesus (2509) | ||

But a basic hosting package can be had for as little as $10 per month. If your members contributed just 50c each it would be affordable. | Greg (193) | ||

You can use their generic url or make a custom one of your own http://www.prophpbb.com/ Here's a you tube vid showing registartion and complete setup... in 5 minutes or so Much diferent to the huge learning curve I had to go thru 14 years ago LOL but not having to worry about server config or databases makes it easy - and again, is probably just what you need if you have no knowledge on forum structures at this time www.youtube.com |

| 1404915 | 2015-07-17 04:55:00 | Had a quick look at the video and it seems quite simple and will suit my needs. Thanks. prophpbb and phpBB are different sites - URL are so similar that can be confusing. phpBB only offers software and does not host. | ephesus (2509) | ||

The only thing is the subdomains available may not suit you. You can sign up for byethost.com They seem to be quite good from my own experience. Cheers, KK |
