1393395 2015-01-31 02:59:00 Raises the question, is Euthanasia legal if all you do is withhold treatment?

If they choose to withhold treatment why not just give you an injection as you would a pet to save suffering? .
1)Apparently, yes it is. My mum has filled out a No Resuscitation type form. Means she can choose to have no treatment.

2)Because that involves a doctor giving you an overdoes, which currently isn't legal.

I support euthanasia......I watched the Louis Theroux doco on Alzheimers, one part showed the advanced stage hospital ward........worse than most people realise.

1393396 2015-02-04 23:07:00 In one case, my father-in-law begged me to shoot him. He was riddled with cancer, had lost all dignity having lost control of his bladder and bowel, and was simply rotting to death lying in his own excrement.

Surly a man has some right to a dignified death.

It makes sense to me too. If I end up like that, I hope I have the capability left to finish it, somehow.
I think a person should to be able to choose, when it gets that bad.

There can be no doubting that, who is that overrule ones personal wish?
