1393313 2015-01-31 23:08:00 Well this might have some of the Investors scratching their head.

“New Zealand's first Islamic KiwiSaver fund has been launched with a promise not to invest in alcohol, Western entertainment or pornography.”

It is February the 1st not April the 1st isn't it?

I guess this will be our new Flag later in the year after a rigged referendum. :D

Of course, can't be rude now can we. :D

I note that the fund has been "Government Approved", so I hope it's "Government Guaranteed" as well.

So good to be able to help these people.

1393315 2015-01-31 23:40:00 I think all Kiwisaver fund providers have to be approved..... but not guaranteed.

To try and stop the dodgy b'stards from ripping off the system

I believe that these are privately own not Gov owned..

Shouldn’t be long before Key has us tenants in our own country. :angry

Bullsh*t

It was privately owned land being sold. This 'Key making us tennants' is a load of crock, pure and simple.

As to whether there should be restrictions on private land sales - well that's a matter for a mature and reasoned discussion. There are arguments on both sides.

If you were selling your house, how'd you feel if you couldn't accept the highest offer because Key's government had regulated that buyer out of the market? You'd complain and blame Key, for doing what you're complaining for him not doing here.

Dammed if you do, and dammed if you don't...

+1

I was thinking that exact same thing. In fact if restrictions were placed on who NZ'ers could sell their property to, there would be a very vocal howl of communism as well as the incessant whining from the PC brigade.

(Warning: this is Off Topic)............You aint seen nothin' yet.........It seems most meat now sold in UK is Halal, even the New Zealand Lamb, I wonder what we are eating ? :)

Big brand shops and restaurants face being forced to label halal food as row grows over ritually slaughtered meat on sale in UK

Supermarkets and restaurants sell halal to customers to save money
They do it so the meat can be eaten by Muslims and non-Muslims
More than 70% of all New Zealand lamb in supermarkets is halal
Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S all sell it
Nick Clegg demands better labelling, but is happy to eat halal pizza

1393320 2015-02-01 03:57:00 Well here is the answer to what we are eating in NZ:

"In the case of New Zealand supermarkets, the beef and lamb may be from animals that have been slaughtered in accordance with halal requirements - but that product is subsequently ‘contaminated’ by the addition of non-halal ingredients or proximity to non-halal goods such as pork. It therefore becomes re-designated as non-halal and cannot be labelled as halal in supermarkets."

I guess “Ignorance is Bliss”. :groan:

Read the “Overseas Investment Act” and you will find that the sale of land being privately owned is not exempt from the Act, but is in fact covered by the Act which is why they had to get permission, and why it was reported.

To help you out HERE (www.legislation.govt.nz) is the legislation setting out criteria.

Originally, the Act was to stop exactly what is happening now. i.e. The citizens of New Zealand becoming Tenants in our own Country.
