I've been sick of the slanted crap he spouts for ages Guess someone has to replace the Person whos name should not be mentioned without careful consideration (Winmacguy) ------ :devil:devil:devil Now those were some "interesting" posts :D Some seem to forget ( or dont know) that Microsoft made a rather large investment in Apple years ago, to save them when Steve Jobs needed help Apple because they were almost bankrupt at the time, so Steve announces a temporary partnership with Microsoft to a very hostile crowd. Bill Gates also makes an appearance. MS are not stupid Microsoft later sold the $150 million worth of Apple stock it purchased for a profit and sales of MacOffice continue to this day Basically current reports can be read and presented different ways to suit the purpose. |

| 1393199 | 2015-01-28 18:28:00 | Why feel sorry for IBM but not Microsoft? - the two are very similar in why they could be doing better than they are. . And IBM started MS in a way...they asked for an OS, MS bought QDOS and then leased it and the rest is history. Perhaps IBM should have done that instead. Hindsight is a great thing..... |

| 1393200 | 2015-01-28 20:14:00 | That is revenue, not profit. Profit is what counts. Microsoft is providing the phone and the OS which is slightly unfamiliar territory for them. no..it..isnt It is gross margin .I'll wiki it for you :-) "Gross margin is the difference between revenue and cost before accounting for certain other costs. Generally, it is calculated as the selling price of an item, less the cost of goods sold (production or acquisition costs, essentially)." Lets not forget that if it wasnt for the ithings , Mac might have been bust buy now. They had years of running at a loss before the ithings saved them. So are we in reality, talking about just another ph company :-) |

| 1393203 | 2015-01-28 23:46:00 | I have been given my brother's old iPhone3Gs, which is a big step up for me from older type cell phones. It is very easy to use for texting which I really like and is all I use it for as the lock-in to Apple services makes it useless for anything else, all I want to do is to add songs from my mp3 collections to the spare 15gig memory or so and play them with the headphones. This is not possible unless I sign up for iTunes which I won't do as I don't want it on my computer. What a waste of good hardware. |
