| 468060 | 2006-07-03 09:42:00 | Yup, I just fixed a malware ridden PC, on Saturday. I had to use Spybot, Trojan remover and Avast Pro. After I had totally removed all signs of malware, I updated the PC to SP2, installed Comodo Firewall and Avast Pro. Worked fine after SP2 had been installed. (Used to have Nortons on it, but I uninstalled it completely). Well no, firewalls dont have to be uninstalled and reinstalled After SP2 has been installed. If theyre installed already. BUT if the only firewall u have is XP's, disable it before u install a better firewall. |

| 468062 | 2006-07-03 10:16:00 | sory speedy i can't agree. the reason for uninstalling the firewall and antivirus is they sometimes break when installing SP2. the result of a broken firewall/av is often no net and a pain in the butt repair job. | tweak'e (69) | ||

Well maybe with Zonealarm, and Nortons, which are known to break, so u cant get on the net. Especially ZA. They'll break, with or without SP1 or 2. |
