The fastest AGP card evr is the Gainward Bliss 7800+ GS with 512Mb RAM, however unless your have a native 1600x1200 LCD panel for a monitor, would be a waste of money. The 6800 series or X800 will be plenty. |

I have a msi 7800gs 256mb/256bit and its all good in my old agp rig, with 2gb of ddr400 ram a AMD64 3500 2.2 ghz 512 cache and a couple of sata 1 harddrives. :D My new rig is a AMD64 170 opteron dual core 2ghz, 1mb cache each core,2gb ddr400 ram,1900xt 512mb/256bit,couple of sata 2 harddrives. :D (I dont smoke, gamble, hardly drink alcohol,so the money that other people waste on those things I waste on my computers.) :D If you have a good 19"/21" crt its all good for your resolutions.Heck the eye candy is good on a lcd as well too. You will need a good power supply for it too as was talked about before to plug into the 7800gs. |

| 467966 | 2006-07-04 15:06:00 | first note: a 1gb graphics card will cost $1500NZ+ so it would be worth more than the computer you're wanting to put it in. The motherboard you have has a 4x AGP bus, so any of the new 8x AGP cards that you may get wont be running at full speed. Everyone else seams to have said all the other things. Just don't expect steller preformance with that computer. |
