| 468850 | 2006-07-05 21:01:00 | Hi, I'm trying to restore my Packard Bell computer to its original settings using the Recovery Disc, but every time I boot up the computer with the disc in nothing happens . I'm guessing this is because I have Windows XP installed, but I'm not sure how to go about restoring thw computer without the recovery disc . Would reinstalling XP return the computer to its original settings, and wipe all files etc? Or is there another way around it? Thanks |

Not all recovery CDs will return a computer back to original settings but unless you are given a choice you can assume that it does. That means all files and data will be wiped and will need backing up if you wish to save them. |
