468749 2006-07-05 06:29:00 Hi all

I am a longtime firefox user, but there is one feature that IE has that I can't seem to get for firefox,
(ironically the only other place i have seen this feature working is on the linux command line)

when I start typing a website in IE
It puts its suggestions in a dropdown box with the most likely one (normally the root of the site) in the address bar if i press tab it goes to the end of the suggested address and I can type in the page i want

when I start typing a website in FireFox
It puts its suggestions in a dropdown box, but it is just not as good as IE (never thought i would say that)

as an example
I typed "ni" (sans quotes) and heres what happens in IE and Firefox

I really like this feature, and any suggestions on how to get it working in firefox would be appreciated

Cheers

addons.mozilla.org

Cheers :)

Heres 2 I found during a quicksearch (haven't tried either though)

Automarks (addons.mozilla.org)
Autocomplete Manager (addons.mozilla.org)

Cheers

468753 2006-07-06 02:02:00 That's the trouble with searches ... unless you know what it's called you can't find it. A bit like using a dictionary to check spelling: if you can't spell it, how can you find it?

Life is like that ...
