Thats it Truevector proxy service.

If it says stopped under the general tab, click on restart then go to the recovery tab, change first, 2nd and sub failure to restart the service.

That way, if it stops again it'll restart by itself, and saves u from going to the general tab again, and restarting it.

468827 2006-07-05 10:36:00 i havn't seen that problem before so i can't say if its a ZA problem or not. however they are a few other reasons for it. unforunatly he/she hasn't said how their broadband is connected (internal/external modem) or the ISP.

btw try turning off "DNS client" service if your useing w2k or XP.

the one problem i've had with a few firewalls is it blocking DNS so i've had to add the ISP's DNS sever addy into the the firewall so it dosn't block it.

468829 2006-07-05 11:00:00 control panel/computer managment/services dns client, change to disable. tweak'e (69)
468830 2006-07-06 03:42:00 I had been having the same problem myself and it was driving me nutty.

Until two days ago when I thought 'firewall' and checked out Zonealarm and found exactly what Speedy was saying. Now that I have taken care of it I no longer have that problem.

Try what Speedy says.

468831 2006-07-06 05:15:00 I have ZA. I have True Vectror Internet Service running. Which is vsmon.exe.
Can't say I have ever seen it turn itself off, on my PC or anyone elses I have put ZA on.
If it did I'd be doing a malware scan.

468832 2006-07-06 08:27:00 control panel/computer managment/services dns client, change to disable.

Thanks tweak'e - this seems to have solved a problem I used to have trying to access the internet after the PC had been hibernating. I always used to have to reboot - now the internet loads pages after returning from hibernation.

468833 2006-07-06 09:16:00 If you disable DNS client and it solves the immediate problem, will it create another? Just interested...knowing that you can undo the action)

Create another DNS client or create another problem? Neither.
